Manteno Bustrip 2008
WCVAs presenting a check for $8000.00 to Kathy Z. at Manteno. WCVA had a very successful fundraiser which enabled them for the second year in a row to donate $8000.00 to the disabled veterans. Sadly, this year's bustrip only had a total of 8 veterans go on the bustrip. ALL who went had a great time with beer, sandwiches, pizza and friendship.

31st Annual Memorial Day Parade
31st Annual Memorial Day Parade 2008: President WCVA Martin E. Tully with USMC Marine Gunnery Sergeant Brian Schiller. Brian was this year's Parade Marshall. The children pictured
wanted to have their picture taken with Brian.
The atmosphere at today's parade was filled with patriotism and espirit de corps. The weather was warm, sunny and beautiful...a perfect day to remember our FALLEN brothers and sisters.
God Bless ALL veterans everywhere. ALL GAVE SOME...SOME GAVE ALL.

Welcome to the VFW Post 450 Memorial Day service. The service included a huge motorcycle escort by various motorcycle clubs, speeches from many important leaders of Veterans issues, Marine Corps League Color Guard, the Emerald Society, 122nd Artillery Division 105mm Howitzer, releasing of doves and a 300ft flyover of a UH Huey "rebuilt" Vietnam helicopter. Thank you all WCVA members who attended. Your support was appreciated. Thank you to all who made the service a memorable experience. Thank you "Rambo" and staff who provided delicious food and drink.
Remember our troops currently serving overseas and above all NEVER FORGET those who did not return.
